Medical Centers
Finding a family doctor or dentist is usually on a priority list for families moving to Guangzhou. There are several medical centres offering services to expatriates. These centres offer a familiar standard of medicine to what most of us are used to in our home countries, but are of course higher in price than the local hospitals.
In the event of an emergency, call an ambulance (your housing compound staff can assist you) and your doctor. The ambulance service has improved dramatically in recent years and will quickly take you to the nearest hospital. Note that you often need to pay before treatment (credit cards are accepted).
